Steven Jay Davis, 65, Wichita, Ks Born December 15, 1959, in Ponca City, Ok - Passed July 9, 2025 surrounded by family.

Steve was a very gifted artist who could sketch and paint with lifelike accuracy. His favorite medium was Graphite and shading due to his color blindness. Throughout the years, he enjoyed playing in several bowling and billiards leagues. He loved attending live sporting events, cheering on Kansas City Chiefs football and Wichita Thunder hockey. Starting in 1979, he spent most of his career as a skilled Programmer and CNC Machinist at Boeing Wichita before working at Johnson Controls in 2008 as a Tool and Die Toolmaker, then retiring in 2018. Most notable, though, was Steve's sense of humor and laugh. He was a master storyteller, often laughing at his own stories before he could reach the punch line. He could reel anyone in with a conversation, and he never knew a stranger - especially if they could talk shop. His smile and infectious laugh were undeniable and will be sorely missed by those close to him.

Survived by daughters Nicole (Derek) Bowman (grandchildren Jensen, Ethan, Caleb), Lynee (Austin) English (grandchildren Owen, Aaron), Miranda Payne; sister-in-law Teresa Metzger (JD) Hays (nephews JC, Collyn and Mackenzie Metzger and niece Abby), sister Debbie (Calvin) Hubbard, (nephews Jason, Calvin, and Justin), and stepsiblings Jamie Anderson, Mark Thomson II, and Sue Thomson. Preceded in death by wife Shelly Davis, mother Donna Thomson, stepfather Mark Thomson, and stepsister Miki Alred.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Baker Funeral Home West 3224 N. Tyler Rd. Wichita, KS.
