In Loving Memory of Steven "Scott" Johnson

S. Scott Johnson passed away peacefully at home in Wichita, Kansas on July 11, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on August 6, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, Scott lived a full and adventurous life rooted deeply in kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family, friends, and community. He made his home in many places over the years—including the Denver

area, San Bernardino, CA, Lincoln, MO, and ultimately back in Wichita. No matter where he was, he made everyone feel like they belonged.

Scott was truly a jack of all trades. His work life was as diverse and dynamic as he was: he spent many years in parts and sales, owned and operated a successful home repair business, and most recently found deep satisfaction in delivering medication to nursing homes across Western Kansas. He believed in hard work, helping others, and doing things the right way.

An avid outdoorsman, Scott loved hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley with his friends and fellow members of the Prairie Thunder HOGS group. But more than anything, he loved people. He had a rare gift—he could talk to anyone and make them feel immediately seen and valued. His warmth, humor, and open heartedness left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to meet him.

Scott especially treasured time with his family and found immense joy in the holiday season. A passionate lover of Christmas, he lived out the spirit of the season year- round, and quite literally became Santa Claus. As a professional Santa, Scott brought laughter, magic, and joy to countless children and families over the years. He was proud to graduate twice from the prestigious Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School in Midland, MI—an achievement that symbolized his generous spirit and love for making others smile.

He was also proud of his service as a volunteer firefighter in Lincoln, MO, always stepping up when help was needed. But perhaps his most remarkable legacy was his constant willingness to be a friend, a mentor, or simply a kind presence to those who needed it most. Scott had a servant's heart, and he gave of it freely.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Joy Johnson. He is survived by his beloved children: Brian Johnson, Craig (Sheri) Barnhart, and Abigail Johnson (Austin Winter); his grandchildren: Jeremy Crabtree (Feather Tapio), Matt (Erin) Crabtree, and Rebecca

Crabtree (Kyle Schreiber); and his great-grandchildren: Nora and Knox Crabtree. He is also survived by his brother, Reggie Johnson; niece and nephew Brandy (Jeremy) Williams and Evan (Paeten) Johnson; and great-niece and nephews Dash and Murphy Williams, and Ollie and Theo Johnson.

In accordance with his wishes, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Lake Afton from 10 AM to 2 PM. All who knew and loved Scott are welcome to come and share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who gave so much and asked for so little.

Scott Johnson lived as he rode, full throttle, with joy, purpose, and a heart open wide.

He is endlessly loved, dearly missed, and will be forever remembered as "Biker Santa".
