Steven Michael Lorg passed from this life on March 8, 2025 at the age of 24. He was born on July 6, 2000 to David Lorg and Jolene (Garvert) Lorg in Wichita, KS. Steven was adopted by his loving parents at birth. Early on in his young life he was diagnosed with several disabilities that brought many struggles and challenges for him through the years. However, he did find joy in simple things that captured his interest. Steven was fascinated with lawn mowers, escalators, grandfather clocks, and the trash truck. He loved greeting the trash man and his favorite job was rolling the trash can to the end of the drive, even on non-trash days. He loved amusement rides, the swimming pool, going out to eat, sipping on his Dr. Pepper, and watching his favorite movies, some of which included The Incredibles and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His family is grateful that Steven is now free from the burden of his disabilities and is with God in his eternal home. As the famous line in another of Steven's favorite movies, The Wizard of Oz, "There's no place like home". Aside from family and others closest to him, his main source of comfort and security was his blanket. Whether on his arm or wrapped around him, it followed him everywhere. He no longer needs the soft feel and warmth of that blanket for he has God's loving and gentle arms to embrace him, and his family will see him again one day in his heavenly home.

Steven is survived by his mother, Jolene Lorg (Garvert), his father David Lorg, his three sisters, Gabriele, Annalise, and Abigail Lorg, all from Wichita, KS and his grandfather, Howard Garvert from Plainville, KS.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Janice Garvert of Plainville and grandparents, Leo and Pat Lorg of Wichita.

A rosary will be at 7:30 PM Friday, March 21, 2025 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 3642 N Ridge Rd, Wichita, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 22nd at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church with the burial to follow the service at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Rd. Wichita, KS 67212. The family would like all present to join them for a dinner immediately following the burial at St. Catherine of Siena Parish Hall.
