With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia Fairlene Kimberlin of Wichita, Kansas, who passed away on March 8th, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Sylvia was loved by many people including: her parents, Ernie and Alice Meeks; her 11 siblings; her husband Joseph; her sons Kenneth and Chris; her daughter-in-law Kathy; her grandchildren, Kalie Beckman and Kelsey Kimberlin and her great-grandchildren Logan and Leah Beckman.

Sylvia was born in Sharon, KS on November 18, 1929. She was one of 12 children born to Alice and Ernie Meeks and was preceded in death by both parents and all of her siblings; Pearl, Myrtle, Arzella, Evelyn Dean, Louise, Hazel, Harold, Eunice, Paulene, Karen and Howard. She was not publicly religious, but she believed in God and Jesus in her own private way. She attended public school through the 8th grade pausing her education to help support her family. She would later complete her high school education and go on to pursue a career in electronics assembly before retiring from Boeing. In retirement she enjoyed traveling, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be a simple gathering of friends and family at the Baker Funeral Home at 3224 N Tyler RD, Wichita, KS, Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 between 10am and Noon. Anyone that would like to pay their respects and reminisce with others are welcome to come and go at any time during those hours. Sylvia will be laid to rest next to her husband of 65 years, Joseph Henry Kimberlin in the Maple City Cemetery east of Arkansas City, KS following the gathering.
