Obituary

Terry Bally, 74, of Maize, Kansas passed away Friday August 8, 2025. He was born in  Wichita and adopted by Richard E. and Virginia L. Bally of Wichita, KS.

Terry graduated from Mulvane High School in 1968. In 1970 he married Deborah McKnight and they had two sons. After high school Terry worked for Richardson Typewriter while attending night classes for HVAC training. After he received his HVAC certifications he went to work for Frank Willie Heating and Air Conditioning. Terry started as a service technician but was soon doing large installations and later became a manager. He decided to leave the company and start his own company called Quality Heating and Cooling. He installed commercial systems sold by Sears and also provided residential sales and service. The final stage of his career was as service manager for Mid-States Fitness Equipment here in Wichita. He retired in 2015.

Terry was an avid sports fan and played football, basketball and ran track in high school. He continued to play basketball and softball as an adult. He loved attending his kids and grandkids games at the ballfield, the track, the gym or the pool. He rarely missed an event and was his kids and his grandkids biggest fan. He loved watching sports on TV and always rooted for his favorite teams. He really enjoyed time with family no matter the time, place or occasion.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie and sister Charlotte. He is survived by his sons, Craig (Kären) Bally of Wichita, Brandon (Katherine) Bally of Maize, grandchildren, Austin (Paula) Bally. Elizabeth Bally, Samantha Bally and Grant Bally all of Wichita, Rylan Bally of Corvallis, OR and Grace Bally of Lufkin, TX; great grandchildren, Harper Bally, Adleigh Bally and Murphy Suenram; sibling Merle "Dean" (Mayumi) Bally of Maize.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on August 18th at Baker Funeral Home, 3224 N. Tyler Rd., Wichita. A reception will follow after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Terry Bally to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Via Christi Foundation as they took great care of him in his final days.
