Tracia (Tracy) Lynn Bear, aged 64, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2026, in the same city she was born in on August 5, 1961. Born to Karrol and Robert Phillips, Tracy was a woman who was deeply involved in her community, lovingly dedicated to her family, and committed to her service to others.

Tracy's education began in East High School where she graduated in 1979 and later received her certificate as a Certified Nurses Aide. She was a compassionate and caring individual who provided care at the Kansas Masonic Home for her Great-Grandfather, Ira, and numerous other residents.

Her dedication to helping others extended beyond her professional life. Tracy was an unwavering pillar of the Narcotics Anonymous community in Wichita for 14 years, celebrating her own 14 years of recovery before her passing. She devoted her life to the NA program, aiding others who struggled with addiction, and becoming a beacon of hope and resilience. Her commitment to service was further exemplified by her work as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for those requiring peer support in the local community.

Tracy was a warm-hearted, selfless individual who often prioritized the needs of others before her own. She cherished her daughter, Amanda, who was the light of her life. A woman of faith, Tracy was a Spirit-filled child of God and a member of Christ Church - Hilltop. She took pleasure in greeting the congregation before services, radiating warmth and welcome to all who entered.

Her passion for life was evident in her many hobbies and activities, which included bingo, bowling, attending NA special events, going to concerts, drive-in movies, crafting, reading, studying her Bible, crossword puzzles, board games, cards and dice, and spending time with her large extended family. Living on a farm with her husband, Dave, she enjoyed the company of myriad animals, wild and domestic. She was also a proud registered member of the Osage Indian tribe.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Karrol Haines, father, Robert Phillips, step-parent, Jean Riley, grandparents Tom and Billie Thurman, Colley Javine, Inez and Willie Ray Phillips, mother-in-law, Emogene Bear, brother, Jon Phillips, nephews, Mitchell Baird, Raymond Manis, Alexander Whaley, Jake Dimello, Brandon Trout, and brothers-in-law Thomas Whaley and James Bakker.

Surviving her are her loving husband, Dave Bear, cherished daughter, Amanda Seago, son-in-law, Sid Seago, brothers, Scott and Kevyn Phillips, sisters, Robin Frank, Kelli Whaley-Bakker, Lynda Schommer, Susan Jeppsson, Sharon Brandon, Katriina Phillips, Kristin Givens, Kayla Tenorio, and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Tracy's life was a testament to the power of resilience, service, and love. Her light will continue to shine in the many lives she touched and the impact she made in her community. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and dedication that will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew and loved her.

Tracy's celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 6th, 10 a.m. at District Church, 304 S. Seneca, Wichita, Kansas.

The family is inviting members of the NA community to choose NA attire over dress attire, if preferred.
