"Wendy Eleanor Sloniker (née White), age 83, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Sedgwick, Kansas.

Wendy was born on April 5, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois. She built a life centered on faith, family, and community, and those who knew her will remember her devotion to the people she loved and the church family she cherished.

Wendy was the devoted wife of Pastor Robert Allen Sloniker, who faithfully pastored Douglas Avenue Assembly of God for 30 years. As a pastor's wife, she played an integral role in the life of the church, offering support, care, and encouragement to countless individuals and families through her quiet strength and unwavering faith.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Allen Sloniker; her daughters, Robyn Leigh Smith and her husband Bob, and Wendy Kathleen Sloniker; and her sisters, Dawn Elizabeth Stewart and her husband Jim, and Jean Margery White and her husband Craig Gilbertson, Jean's daughter Tara, and her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Marie Sloniker. Wendy was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a joyful great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense happiness.

Wendy especially enjoyed being active in her church and spending time with her family, whether in fellowship, celebration, or quiet moments together. Her faith and love for others were evident in the way she lived her life and cared for those around her.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Douglas Avenue Assembly of God in Wichita, Kansas. Dinner will follow the service.

Wendy will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know her."
